This interdisciplinary research group investigates and generates actionable insights on how both established enterprises and emerging start-ups can harness the power of existing and emerging technologies to enhance their competitiveness while fostering sustainability.

Addressing societal challenges

The research group focuses on empowering startups and established businesses to leverage cutting-edge technologies for the creation of new markets. These markets encompass but are not limited to sustainable and circular products and services, as well as revolutionary healthcare solutions that prioritize prevention, among others. Additionally, the research group drives to enhance the efficiency of business operations across industries.

The overarching goal is to develop practical insights, methods, and tools that enable businesses, both large and small, to address pressing societal challenges. These challenges include navigating the complexities of the energy transition, adapting to the ever-evolving landscape of digital transformation and addressing the growing divide between the affluent and the underserved.

Integrating research findings into education

Furthermore, knowledge dissemination is important and education plays a critical role in shaping the future of sustainable business practices. To this end, the research group actively integrates cutting-edge research findings into our educational programmes, ensuring that the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs are well-equipped to drive change and champion sustainability in their respective fields.

In essence, the Sustainable Business research group strives to bridge the gap between research and real-world application. They strive for a future where businesses, startups and society at large thrive in harmony with our planet's finite resources.
